La Distesa

Distesa is one of the most representative and symbolic realities in the world of artisan wines. It was founded in 2000 by Corrado Dottori who, after graduating in economics from Milan's Bocconi University, decided, with his partner Valeria, to settle in his native Cupramontana and relaunch the family's production, adopting an authentic and respectful approach to the land. In the midst of olive groves, arable land and woods, he decided to cultivate traditional Marche grapes such as Sangiovese, Montepulciano, Verdicchio and Trebbiano. Today, Corrado and Valeria are two happy parents, still cultivating with passion and enthusiasm the vineyards that stretch between the communes of San Paolo di Jesi, Staffolo and Cupramontana, the latter being the land par excellence of Verdicchio. La Distesa wines are far from the international models, designed and created for the simple pleasure of tasting, they are instead pure territorial essences, telling the story of the land of Marche with its thousand nuances and shapes. A story already documented in Jonathan Nossiter's film "Natural Resistance", which tells the story of four great Italian winemakers.

In recent years, agritourism has also become a cultural space, organizing music festivals and offering cultural activities to strengthen the link between music, art and wine. The vines, grown according to the principles of organic agriculture, are rooted in clay and limestone soils rich in life, cultivated in the total absence of chemicals and fertilizers (only small doses of copper and sulfur). This sensitive vision of the vine is also reflected in the cellar, where the trick is paradoxically not to intervene in the various stages of production, leaving the processes to unfold spontaneously. Thus, alcoholic fermentations are carried out by indigenous yeasts, and invasive processes such as clarification and filtration are abolished.

The wines of La Distesa are characterized by a rustic, resolutely expressive and artisanal aspect. Frank, pure and rich, they condense all the moods and characteristics of the terroir. Fresh and tasty, decisive and substantial, but always faithful portraits of the Marche region!
